Locker Hooked Pillows

Locker hooking was originally a rug making technique that was done with using burlap backing, rag strips, a crochet hook and a large bodkin type needle. A clever Australian reintroduced the craft in the 1970's creating a "Locker Hook" which is shaped like a crochet hook, but with the large eye built right in. He also started using conventional latch hook canvas and with the abundance of fleece in Australia, used rovings.
I love the spontaneous color variations I get with hand dyed roving. The top two pillows are hand-dyed roving, the bottom left is commercially dyed and the bottom right is natural and hand-dyed roving. 14" removable pillows, cotton or hemp backing.
